Default V8 water pump adapter?

Why would I want to adapt a V8 water pump to my Model A?

They have a carbon-seal, like modern pumps. Many were used on modified Model A's. Downside is no fan bolts, so an electric fan must be installed, or no fan. I ran my widebed for years with no fan, no problems as long as you are moving.
