AZ auctions
I have been watching prices on the auction sites, does anybody else see the crazy prices paid for some trucks, or Broncos, Blazers, etc.? Corvettes seem to be going down in value, Mustangs and Camaros seem to be holding fairly well.

Re: AZ auctions
KUDZUVIPER - Absolutely agree with the operative word "crazy!" However, there are obviously those who have the disposable income and a desire to have these vehicles that make them willing to pay these prices. Trucks, of all description, seem to have developed a huge following, and particularly those that are "turn-key." The bright side, for me at least, is that the auctions seem to have kindled an interest in the '66 and '68 Mustang Convertibles I have for sale - I was purposely not pushing their sale until the Spring ....... But may not have "push" at all! At least there IS a market for these cars / trucks: be interesting to see what the "electrified future" holds!

Re: AZ auctions
I've been to B-J a few times and some more common auto auctions. I think the "fever/hype" and desire, especially for high end cars, gets to some people.

Re: AZ auctions
The BJ auction seems like people who have more than enough spending way more than is reasonable for something they don't need. My garage contents make me guilty of the same.

Re: AZ auctions
Gold chainers go to the auctions. Many have more money that sense. I never could afford the new or newly restored stuff so I'm one that DIYs the work at my own price capability. All the folks moving to AZ must want to go 4-wheeling out in the desert to pay high prices for any 4WD stuff.

I would like someday to be a member of the "More Money Than Brains Club"
that seems to have their annual meeting at those auctions. Oldmics |

Re: AZ auctions
Barret Jackson is for the financially gifted. They feel better about themselves when they overpay for a car and set the new standard for everybody.

Re: AZ auctions
Look at the Hagerty price guide, they show more foreign junk every auction. Don't like foreign junk myself. Looking for a 55 ford club sedan now. Have a 41 ford busisness coupe.

Re: AZ auctions
I went over to the B-J auction on Wednesday and was looking at some of the Bronco Type vehicles, the ones near the front entrance.
I could understand some of the high prices as to the various upgrades done. Some of the vehicles were rare such as the early Land Rover modified with up to date items, think the only ? stock item was the body. Yes, being hyped up and two people send prices upwards, I can't see this money for cars that are plentiful for example Tri Fives. In my case there was another bidder, the Reserve was off and my vehicle is somewhat rare. Would I do it again? Nope. I would try and find the vehicle, owner and buy it. I may have been able to do this with my wagen but the owner was stuck on the upcoming auction with a high price in mind $75k!! Auctions really only benefit the Company putting it on, with today's access to the internet do the purchasing this way. |
