swoopNZ is correct in identifying this Hubcap as a 1939 Ford Standard and the 1/2 ton Commercials.

.

Supposed to be 1939 Ford pick-up. This is a very odd "8" on this cap in that MOST caps with any sort of "V8" has the "8" situated upside down with the large circle on top, to accentuate the widening "V". I looked at well over a hundred '39 Standard passenger car pictures this evening and did not see that cap on even one of them, FWIW! DD

Not 38 truck for certain. 38 has a basic design like it but bigger.

1938 and 1939 Ford Standard Hubcaps compared.
Notice that the ends of the V8 Insignia go nearly to the outside of this added on centre piece.
It is also an exact copy of the V8 insignia on the 1938 Ford Deluxe Hubcap.
Meanwhile, the V8 insignia on the 1939 Ford Standard Hubcap is much smaller than the one on the 1938 Ford Standard Hubcap.

Yep, not 38 truck. I can't say otherwise for certain and have nothing to add.

'39 standard. These, in good condition, are kind of tough to locate.

V8COOPMAN posted a pic of 4 hubcaps that were mine at one time. Sold them to the owner of a '39 Standard Coupe in Minneapolis. I had already worked on a set for my pickup when I bought these at the Iola Swap Meet, they would have been much easier than the ones I had finished. It is hard to find decent ones as Kube stated but at least you can identify them thanks to this forum.

Gary, When I'd restored the coupe that the previously depicted caps were installed upon, I was amazed at how difficult it was to find four decent "donors".
The next coupe I'd restored came with a nice set. I was thankful for that.

Thanks. I no longer recall how many hours I had in these. Probably too many.
Car ended up scoring 996 the first time out. Four points were deducted for over restoration.
I miss that little coupe. Still, a friend of mine now owns it and loves it.
