Mac's Auto Parts
Does anybody have any experience using the "new" 37 ford 6 volt tall type ignition coil (78-12036-A) from Mac's?

Re: Mac's Auto Parts
I used one while my original coil was being rebuilt by Skip Haney and it worked like a champ....

I stopped using them. They couldn't get an order right. No better under the new name only faster shipping wrong parts.

I too only had bad experience with them.

Re: Mac's Auto Parts
The coil they sell is made by Dennis Carpenter. They seem to be very hit or miss. The primary resistance of the older ones was considerably off, however I think they have fixed the issues with them. Just my 2 cents is that I’d much prefer a skip Haney coil

Re: Mac's Auto Parts
My problem was not with the ""new" 37 ford 6 volt tall type ignition coil (78-12036-A), it was with Mac's in general. Sorry if there was any confusion.

Re: Mac's Auto Parts
Have used two of these and have worked well over the last couple of years in cars which don't do large mileages. Regards, Kevin.
