Re: How hard to get an original Model A title?
I opted for the legal way to get a bonded title and the whole process just made me realize why people go the illegal route. Everything about it was ridiculous.

Re: How hard to get an original Model A title?
A guy who used to sell Titles out of Alabama would buy a three month registration from the state, for $5.19, and since registration constitutes tiltle there, that's all it would take.
In Alaska, I obtained a Title Bond for $100.00 and the title for $15.00, I could have gotten it bonded for $50.00 if I had checked around town with other insurance agencies. Also forked out $50.00 for an appraisal. After 3 years the title is free and clear. In Alaska the only person who can apply for a Lost Title is the person who Lost it. Darryl in Fairbanks |

Re: How hard to get an original Model A title?
Humble Model A Title Opinion Based On Past Experiences:
FWIW: 1. Problems with obtaining and paying for legal, Model A titles is only "partly" about individual State "Rules"; however, 2. Problems obtaining and paying for legal, Model A titles is "mostly" about U. S. Government and State Civil Service Government Employees, many who really do not care about citizen/client relationships; and many who could never ever successfully manage a private business where pleasing citizens/clients and making a profit is important. 3. E.G.: a. Walk in a hardware store with cash and ask a private businessman for a wrench ...... he does not ask if you intend to rob a bank with a wrench, kill your wife, or pull your pastors gold tooth while he is sleeping ...... he shows you (8) wrenches and lets you choose. b. Then walk into a Department of Motor Vehicle Office vehicle with a brief case full of affidavits, photos, and legal documents and ask for a Model A title and the "Government Green Check Recipient" appears so content to argue for (2) hours to explain why you definitely cannot obtain a Model A title. 4. Go to obtain a Government Building Permit, or an type of permit, and one could meet an entirely different, cold hearted Civil Service Government Breed of Human never seen before ...... not even in a Zoo ...... where most animals care for one another. 5. Again one opinion and experience ..... never give up ..... a Model A title will be granted only when one stays calm and finds a "different" Government Employee who is willing to assist ...... they are sometimes difficult to find ....... but they are out there. |

Re: How hard to get an original Model A title?
During the on-going process of getting a Bonded Title for my 30 CCPU, I have encountered several Government IDOT employees.
I am getting good service so far. They are thorough and polite. If you are. So being nasty with any Governmental Service will get you very little. Be patient. If they sense you are in a hurry, they take that as you are not being honest. (My opinion.) What's the saying about "honey?" Larry

Re: How hard to get an original Model A title?
I had done most of the work ahead of time as once the bond was taken out I had to have the application to them within 10 days. Also had to have my bill of sale. A copy of a certified letter to the person on the bill of sale asking for title. A copy of a title search of the VIN and a copy of the VIN inspection. Since my VIN did not show up in the records it helped to expediate the process. Rod
