Mitchell OD in a 39 Std Coupe
Thought I would give some feedback on my Mitchell installation on my 39 std. All went well and the only issue was that part of the cable bracket that attaches to the rear of the gear box was sometimes hitting the corner of the floor pan stepdown at the tunnel, when going over a bump. I only needed a quarter of an inch clearance so I just tapped the corner in with a hammer and it clears. No cutting or modifications other than the dimple in the floor pan was needed. The overdrive works great and the cable shifter is easy to shift .

Re: Mitchell OD in a 39 Std Coupe
I turned my shift cable upside down and never hit floor again. It would only really hit with someone in back seat. But I also put a complete Bradley floor in mine it may be a touch higher. The Mitchell works great better that the 700r4 I'm messing with now

Where did you guys buy your units? I`d like to put one in my 37. Think I will have issues with it being lowered?

Re: Mitchell OD in a 39 Std Coupe
FYI. With the 36% Mitchell overdrive in my 39, at 60mph, GPS reading, my tachometer reads just a hair over 2K. I assume the rear is a 378.
