Default Home Made Heater

I am looking for novel approaches to putting heat into my 190A Victoria. Pictures of your system will be highly appreciated. In need to get something into my car by November so Christmas parading and icecycle runs will not be frigid experiences.

When we built the roadster pickup we had heated seats made by LeBarron Bonney and installed those. They work well.

Snyders sell a great, complete heater with all necessary hardware. Wayne

I built a heater for a Friends slant window using a finned tube oil cooler and two 12 volt computer power supply fans. Two fans equal two speeds. make your own tin box and mount under the seat. Also look at the space in front of the gas tank and behind the firewall. I am thinking of finned tube, baseboard unit here. I haven't done this but it looks doable.

Just use the old manifold heater. It will run you out it gets so hot. I drive my 4 door year round in Michigan. Does a good job.

May not be a "novel" or "new" approach to putting heat in your 190A Victoria.

But might I suggest...

Weeellllllll, you said novel and I really did this.
I had several A's over the course of going to school and one 2 door I had during a fall and winter I put a small air tight wood stove in the back in place of the seat. Took all of the upholstery out and made a piece of 1/4 inch thick asbestos board to replace one of the back side windows with a 4 inch hole in it that I ran the pipe out and up.
It worked especially well at drive-in theaters.
I burned presto-logs.

When I was growing up my uncle had a 1930 sedan with an old kerosene heater tied in the back with baling wire from one window crank to the other. Worked good but we always smelled like kerosene when we went some where.

I had a hole in my firewall when I got my truck, I thought it would easer to install a heater than patch the hole properly. Look at pictures on line to get the right one, lined it up with the stock treaded hole for the speedo cable clip, happened to match up with an Otwell. It works very well on cold new England days and my wife gets to control the flap.

In the early 70's I had the bright idea to light a candle set in a tin can, and use the heat to keep the interior warmer while I was in the store shopping. When I came out an hour later the insides of all the glass was frosted over from all the humidity the burning candle produced. Not only that, but that candle couldn't have heated the interior more than a couple degrees in the cold Minnesota winters. Another failed experiment.
