Hi Charlie, This qualifies as pretty cool in my book!

Original, then rotated. No info on what it's from, but Cadillac made a V-16, right?

Cadillac made two different versions; an overhead valve version in the early thirties and a flathead(!) from 1937 to 1940. Marmon also made a V16.

Very cool! Pete gave me some great direction and tips for tuning my blown flathead.

The V16 Caddy engines I build I have designed those pistons to raise the compression from 6:1 up to 8:1 and Jerry at Schneider Cams cam up with a different grind along with Manley stainless steel valves.
I do all the mods so they run better and are more reliable on today's gas.
Thanks Charlie for the kind words.

Quite right, but they only made one prototype, so it wasn't a production engine.

Be nice to hear that run. Had a friend that had a V12 Caddy, can't remember if it was a flatty or oHV.

Guys,
If you check Pete's web site you'll also see a Duesenburg double overhead cam cyl head he brought back into life. At a quick glance I mistakenly thought that was what Jeff posted.
Gotta met this Pete guy.

Charlie, I'm with you. The green on that engine stand had me thinking Duesenberg straight-eight until I looked a third time then I noticed a whole other cylinder bank!

Hey guys
I know it's a Ford site but here is a little info on Duesenberg.
They were made in Auburn Indiana, they were 430 cubic inch ,they were four valves a cylinder and weighed 1200lbs.
And the biggest thing I think.
When Fords were $800 Duesenberg's were $40,000.
Today when our classics are worth $20-$80,000
Duesenberg engines in rebuildable shape are in the range of $120,000.00 and the cars are a$700,000 up.
Just for the record I would never trade my 34 Ford for one but I would take the money!!

I Think Jay Leno has re popped the Duzy cyl head, as they were a weak link casting. Be interesting to see one.

He did come up with his own casting but I haven't seen one.
These head are a lot of work ,hours to set valve lash.

Okay Pete, your fault for letting us peek in your garage...

What details can you share about the powerplant in that hot little roadster (correction: coupe) trying to hide in the background?

Are you asking about my 34 or the Austin Healey.
The 34 is my baby that I have been building for the last 10 years,
It a .060 over 239 with Schneider 270-f cam , 1.5 & 1.6 Manley valves ,Vertex mag, Halibrand quick change and 4 Holley 94's.
The body, engine and drivetrain are done I,m just waiting for my brother the engineer to finish reprofiling the heads. We are doing some chamber mods.
And of course since I'm the carb guy my car must have 4-2 barrels that work.
The Healey is a clients that was in for service work.

I'm impressed; it takes a hell of a carb guy to make 4 94's work on a 248" engine.
