Default 48 coupe- question about moon discs

I was wondering if anyone is running those big flat aluminum discs on their cars these days. I remember seeing them when I was in high school and always liked the way they looked. I think my coupe would look good with them.
Anyone have pictures they want to share?
Thanks

That rings the memory bell, Dick. "Back in the day", most of us ran moon discs, flipper, or "Caddy" caps. My concession to my checkered past is the "blue dot" taillight lenses on my '47. No fuzzy dice, however!

Yeah, I'm running 15 inch merc wheels too and wondering about fitment. I see on the moon web site several disc types, but I don't know if they will fit my wheels. The discs I like are the spun aluminum dull looking ones with the point in the center, not a real center feature, just where the metal starts tapering. I remember seeing the screw on type, but don't know if they're too shallow for the Ford or if it's bad to drill the wheels for the screws.
Any comments on that?

My Son has them on his car. He started with the snap on type caps but not being able to keep them on, bought the screw on type and never looked back.

On a '48 and older Ford and Merc, the hubcap has to cone out in the center
enough to clear the Rear axle shaft.

I ran the "snap on" ones on my 50 olds coupe and had no problem with them.

That's what I'm worried about.
I was hoping someone on the forum is running them on an early V8.

Moon offers a "deep dish" version of the screw-on Moon disc. It is made to clear the axles on your Ford. I have run the screw-on caps in the past (not the deep dish variety) and had no problems. I gotta admit though it's a bit of a pain in the butt to check air pressure in your tires. But I do like the way they look on a car.

You can get them that attach with 3 Dzus fasteners also.
Lots of those in use on lakes and sprint cars.

Pete.
I saw the jig on the moon page. They refund the purchase price when you return it.
Question. Do you just weld the Dzus brackets to the wheel? That's it? Say with a MIG or does it require a stick welder?

You asked for pics, here's a sedan advertised on CL, close as I can get. Says it's a flathead so likely has stock rear axle.
