Default sediment bulb/fuel filter

another newbie questions.

I'm still working on getting the tank cleaned out as I haven't been able to spend a lot of time on it. I've read through several threads here talking about the sediment bulb and adding a fuel filter.

Where might I might the sediment bulb?

Also, I'm used to dealing with rubber fuel lines, where would I add a fuel filter for a metal line?

Thanks for the advice guys and as always I appreciate the help.

Snyder's has the sediment bulb and a micro filter to place in it.

I have added an in line fuel filter between bowl on firewall and carb. I cut metal line for filter with rubber tubes on each side. Works well and is easy to install.

The Cast Iron sediment bowl does a GREAT filtering job "AS IS"--"Just SET-IT & FORGET-IT"---
"IN LINE" filters spliced into the fuel line are "BAD NEWS" unless you're running a FUEL PUMP!

The one thing about Model A owners is we have strong views on different things. Which is great.

I have added in line fuel filters to every Model A we have owned. No fuel pump, great results. I have never heard of a problem.

If you go to a meet, check out all the in line filters.

I know that feeling, the jeep community is the same way. everyone has their

The local Model A club is meeting next weekend, I fully intend to attend the meeting and hopefully pick brains and check out some awesome cars.

This car has a lot of sentimental value to me as it was my grandfathers, so I want to make sure it is running as best as it can with my limited budget

upon a little further research I think the sediment bulb will do what I need. Again because I simply don't know, I'm guessing I need the bulb, gasket, and the micro filter to place on the firewall?

they have the glass bulb version. one of the service letters books talks about a contemporary recall promoted by the Company to replace the glass version (for free to the owner) with the cast iron version and return the glass unit back to the branch ....exactly why was never stated.

Duct taped an old fishing rod (snipped off the eyes) to an old nylon brush, drained the tank removed the strainer and brushed hell out of it..shot it with a solvent sprayer, then duct taped a 5/8th heater hose in the shop vac hose and duct taped the fishing rod to it (pictured)..worked great,I could guide the vacuum hose where I wanted it..all through the filler neck, got all the crap out in a few hours...
