Oil pressure gauge
Where is the best place to put an oil pressure gauge on a 59a block?
There are a couple places in the left rear corner that has plugs in them. |

Re: Oil pressure gauge
The pressure switch is in the port that runs vertical. If your keeping the elec. switch you need to put a tee there to run both. Or, you could put a tee at the filter canister inlet if your running a filter. This all depends on the oil system not being modified........Mark

Re: Oil pressure gauge
I installed a mechanical gauge on my '46, 59A engine, along with the electrical sender for the dash gauge. It was a tight fit to get every fitting in and tightened, but it all fits. In the attached picture, it looks like the tubing going to the mechanical gauge is kinked, but that is only a plastic sheathing I put over the tubing to protect it from chafing on anything. I had to use a crowfoot wrench to tighten some of the fittings.
