My new Stant's out-of-box opened/closed abt 170 deg as specified. Left side with aftermarket temp gauge did not spike after old termo replaced. New thermo tested good when put in right side with stock dual sensors the stock gauge still spikes.

My 180 Stants spiked - that's why I put in the Murrays. I didn't pre - test any of them before installing them. That's changing in the future.
