Re: 1937 Ford part subsitution question
Albertaboy...I have nothing but respect for Westcott, but the 35-37 pickups did not use the same under grill piece. The 35 had no holes in the grill chin for bolting up a below grill pan and they used the same much smaller piece that was used in the 35 passenger car...there were two different ones, an early and a late with the late having a drain hole in it. I believe they are pictured in the 35/6 V-8 Club restorers book. The 36 used a piece that extended into the chin of the grill as did the 37, but there are shape differences between them. I believe Lawson Cox took pictures of them when he came by my home to get some pictures of some of the NOS pickup parts I had back when he was trying to put together the manual. I have both early and late 35 pieces that are the same as the passenger ones and I have a correct NOS 37 pickup one that is hanging on the wall until I get around to assembling my pickup. The half ton pickup is considered a commercial vehicle and the 1 1/2 ton was considered a truck. The parts numbers are not the same and they do not mount exactly the same way due to frame differences. I cannot take any pictures to help out...my old computer has the camera loaded on it and they no longer support the edition of Windows on that computer.

Re: 1937 Ford part subsitution question
If uploading from a PC, on the manage attachments popup, try clicking one, and upload, then another and upload, etc. Then submit post. See if that workaround doesn't help.
EDIT TO ADD: And as soon as I posted, your pics are coming through, well done!

Re: 1937 Ford part subsitution question
37 pickup...The piece you are showing is the inner grill panel that has the hand crank hole(s) in it, not the part that goes below the grill. The 37 piece you have pictured is also unique to the 37 pickup and truck. Both 35 and 36 pickups had the piece shown, but the 36 had a different length "chin" on it and the 35 was a single mostly flat piece with no louvers.
