Default Super Winfield head info needed

Last weekend I bought what i assume to be an original super Winfield aluminum high compression head. I've tried doing some research to find out what compression it is. I've read 7:1 and 8:1. My head is casting #104 and there is another number next to the casting # that reads 8.25. I'm not sure if that is the compression or not. If some can confirm the compression ratio i would appreciate it. I bought this head for when I build a hot motor for my speedster once I get caught up from building the speedster in the first place.

The only way to know for sure is to CC it, and calculate the CR with your cylinder volume. Good Luck.

I agree with Rex-A-Lott. It is likely and original as I don't believe the Super's have been replicated. On other Winfields the first numbers of the serial # indicates the compression ratio. After 60-80 years who knows how many times it has been cut.
