What a great picture this is!

I noticed you have those European turn signals that swing up and out. Is that something you added? And do the antique cars need to add them to be driven in Germany?

Tom and Elrod,

I have started a new thread explaining about the trafficator turn signals on my car.

They are originals from the Model A era and were required back then on all road vehicles (in a lot of other European countries as well).

Tom:

Here is the new thread he started explaining the trafficator turn signals. Those are really neat Brad! Thanks for making a new thread about them! I'm sure eBay searches just went up on those! haha!

Elrod,

If you're looking for them on German eBay, they are called "Winkers" in German.

The Ford script ones are ultra scarce. The Ford script is embossed or pressed into (raised) on the lenses. But you can simply paint (or better, silk screen) a Ford script on the lense and it will look exactly the same if you don't know the difference and can't find original Ford script ones.

My wife Andrea can drive my A's but doesn't seem to love driving them like I do. She feels that she lacks control when she drives them. I suspect she just needs driving time to become more confident with things. Like many drivers used to only moderns she tends to overdrive the brakes and lights of the Model A. As for double declutching forget it! . Fortunately she is reasonable at timing upshifts so it is not necessaryto double declutch and she avoids downshifts . However to give her credit she does drive it from time to time (generally when I feel I have socialised to much to drive safely). However she refuses to even attempt the 1910 Hupmobile-which I'm secretly glad about as even I find it sometimes tricky!

Model T Monte,
We traveled to Norman and the Oklahoma City area. We had a great time. My grandma drove the coupe about 150 miles. I started to feel dehidrated and wanted to get to the hotel, so she sped up passed all the other A's doing about 65! She did a great job at driving and I would hope everyone else here would let their passengers drive the cars. It's a great way to get them envolved.
