Default 155-A top moulding

My local supplier, Snyder's, just started stocking the correct aluminum top moulding for use on the sides/rear of the '29 Murray Town Sedan, 155-A. I am thinking about removing what I used when I put this car together and replacing it with the correct moulding. The judging standards indicated that the moulding was fastened approx. every 2". What was used to fasten this moulding? Is the head of this fastener exposed? Countersunk? Nail or Screw? This moulding is in 10' lengths so I suppose there would have been a joint somewhere on the top, probably a butt joint? Any insight from fellow Murray owners would be greatly appreciated. Photos would be awesome!

The moulding is fastened with body nails. the heads were not counter sunk just sat on top. the repro nails have a thicker head then originals so you could slightly counter sink them so the head doesnt sit up quit so high. The mouldings were formed to fit the shape of the front moulding and had a butt joint in the center of the rear window. Hope this helps

When I re-installed the original moulding on my 155A, I carefully ground the heads of the "spiral" nails to match what I believed to be an original nail that I had removed when I pulled the trim strip. The hole spacing on mine varies between 1 7/8" and 2 1/4" which probably indicates that the holes were "eyeballed" on assembly. The spacing must remain within the range provided by the oblong holes stamped in the sheetmetal.
