'32 sedan dash tunnel
Does a '32 dash tunnel have any sort of spacer/washer/cushion used between it and the firewall at the six fittings? I have put a new face on to two tunnel legs that came with my car but it sits a little way back from the dashboard face. Sure I got my dimensions correct and firewall is sitting correctly in the body. It is only a little way back and I assume it should touch?

Re: '32 sedan dash tunnel
are you bolting it directly to the backside of the firewall? Originally when they were new there was an insulator and the black moulded cardboard pad (the one with the chicken tracks pattern) the pad was moulded and a recess in the insulatorallowed the moulded part to have (2) recessed "C" shapes with the (6) mounting holes. the thickness of this pad may be the difference as to why your engine turned oval face panel is not flush against the dash panel.

That would explain it thank you. This is my first '32 so did not know what was supposed to be there.
Very much appreciated. |

Plumpcars
The gauge panel should not touch the dash board. The gauge panel floats behind the dash |
