Default 1932 bolt and spring set for cowl to frame

Just trying to get info on where to get bolt and spring that are used in attaching cowl to frame? Two are needed, one on either side of cowl.

Thanks,
Craig

Craig,

No spring was used originally at those locations. The bolts were 7/16-20 x 2 1/4.

Thanks David,

You are correct. Think Dad said they started putting springs in late to minimize cracking.

Thanks for the dimensions!

Your Dad was correct about the late addition of a spring to prevent cracks forming in the body, but it was not at the cowl attachment. Rather, it was at the rearmost body-to-frame attachment on cabriolets, coupes, and roadsters where starting in September, 1932 a 3/8-24 x 2.7" drilled shank hex head bolt plus two flat washers, a castle nut, and cotter pin were substituted for the carriage head bolt, etc. used previously on each side.
