Re: Extra long bed
My father bought one of these from the U. S government at Ft. Snelling in Minneapolis from the Army in about 1949 or so. He said they gave him a bunch of tools and parts and tires to go with it, everything that was put a side in the motor pool for it. He had no idea the parts and extra tires came with it. He said the truck was like new and he used it at that time to haul tin cans from a dump operation that he had going at that time. He said it was the longest Model A that he had seen.

Re: Extra long bed
The bed on a regular A pickup is actually pretty small. This one looks like it would be a lot more useful! I'm surprised not more of them are around.

Re: Extra long bed
The truck, including the box, is a Ford product, not aftermarket. It was built on the 157" wheelbase chassis and the box is 11 feet (132") long.

Re: Extra long bed
This is a wooden express I have. It came from West Virginia. Seller told me it was made by the Budd company and came new on a 29 AA. It's about 8 feet long and fits nicely on the 131" wheelbase AA trucks. Sheet metal clad on the outside and plain wood on the inside. Another one of my "someday" projects.
