AAA does tow older cars and will send a flat bed. Also, I have never had to call the actual towing company.....you call the AAA number and they arrange for the closest tow operator. I have been impressed the few times I have needed them, and the extra 200 mike coverage is very nice for collector cars.

Do you have any gas dripping from the carb after the car has been sitting for a while?

Should be able to get her running well enough to get home with a crescent wrench, a couple screw drivers and a spare condenser and set of points

Something is restricting gas flow somewhere. I vote rust. Either that or there is a short opening up when she warms up or something vibrated to short.

So on a related question to your dilemma, your AAA membership covers towing on an older car like you're A? Just wondering cause we have AAA for our daily drivers but never thought about using them for our garage toys, even though hagerty provides towing too...stuff in rad looks like corrosion of some sort? Best of luck.





AAA covers ALL of your cars. no need to use and pay for Hagerty.


and yes, the 200 and 100 mile tow packages are wonderful. Used my 200 and 2 100
mile tows last year............ what a deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


Just bought a none running 29 dodge, paid for it, called AAA and they came and picked it up and took it home for me. no need for a trailer.........

AAA is great, will tow classic cars. I paid $117 for a year and get 3 tows up to 200 hundred miles.

I've been happy with AAA, since 1957! And it's EASY to get them, just remember, 1-800-AAA-HELP.
Also had Homeowners' Insurance with them, since 1975. They're gonna' "CRY" when I sell my truck & give up driving. My AAA Agent, Henry Lobdell, used to bake & bring Chocolate Chip Cookies, when renewing our policies!

I used to have AAA insurance, rates kept creeping up and I've never had an accident or ticket. When I turned 25 I thought my rates would drop - no went up $40 a year. I called to ask why - apparently me being in IL and hurricanes hitting the coast is why my cost went up... I told them thats ridiculous - charge the people in destructive areas more for living there and not me whos never had a claim with them. Didnt matter so i dropped them and switched with identical coverage to another company saving over $700 a year...
