Default Tan book/Brown book

I have an original copy of both the tan and the brown books. Both done in 1941. One is a factory reprint. One covers 28-41, the other 39-41. They are both the same thickness. I'm using it for my 39 peeekup. I'm guessing the 39-41 would be the better one to keep?

The older books have some of the more original part numbers. The green bible covers clear up to 1948 but most of the superseded part numbers were not listed. They only listed the current replacement parts that were available at the time of print in the early 50s. Some of the early books include Mercury parts that the later books don't have.

You can never have too much information. Some of those old books will answer questions that later ones won't.
