Sat morning "late crab" work....
Sat catch up ( always behind) , Terry cleaned this one up and laid it on my bench that said "different".
What he was refering to i dont see often so i thought i would share just as a info only?? The later 46-47-48 Crabs used a two piece distributor cap often refered to as a rabbitt ear cap. Most of these have a cap locating pin that is internal as well as external for the use of both caps. Crab and Rabbitt. This case is internal only and doesnt have the external machined for the crab style cap , making it only for the later cap. Not really a big deal but out of a few hundred we do each year this is the only one i have seen??? |

When I was doing distributors for Remund, a couple hundred or so, never saw one like that. Off shore production?

Re: Sat morning "late crab" work....
It may have been early 59 production. There is a possibility that it could be wartime production since the rabbit ear was likely developed for military use. The military always wants stuff sealed up to the hilt and the rabbit ear set up is in that category.
He is like me on my shop computer. They are the last thing we think about until it's broke. |
