Re: Motor oil coming out back of motor
The model A engine uses a front and rear oil slinger .
There was originally no rear oil seal on the model A engines If the rear of the engine is in a steep enough angle Oil will bypass the rear oil slinger and leak oil out of the rear of the engine If the rear main bearing is badly worn it will be more likely to leak. |

Re: Motor oil coming out back of motor
The angle of the motor probably allowed oil to go thru the bearing and past the slinger. Probably no oil is in the clutch assy, the flywheel is in the way.

The oil passage through the drain pipe goes along a separate passage along the bottom of the rear main bearing to the oil slinger behind the bearing. Thus the oil bypasses the rear main bearing and will readily flow out of the slinger and into the flywheel housing.
