Default 36 5 window door glass

for my 36 five window I am having trouble finding the correct position for the glass in the channel. Any one know the correct position of the glass in the channel. Is the distance from the front greater than 2". The problem is getting the channel and the glass positioned so that the roller in the center of the channel enters the slot for the smoker window.

Thanks
Doug

I have endured your pain! The metal channels are only as long as they just need to be thanks to Henrys manufacturing economy and therefore their placement on the glass is critical, else the wheels on the runners will run out of channel. Unfortunately i don't know the dimension required.

When i did mine i mocked it all up and then marked the glass in situ with masking tape. Dismantled and temporarily wedged the glass in the channel. Refitted and tested for proper operation. Adjusted as required and remarked glass. Dismantled. With an accurate position now established i set the glass on 3 or 4 blobs of silicone sealer. Not original but hey!

Lots of awkward work all inside the door.

I got to do it all again fairly soon as the laminated glass soon broke but i replaced it with toughened and never looked back. The beds of silicone are fairly easy to cut away if you've not gone mad with the stuff!

There might be easier ways of doing all this however!
