Default Throttle shaft brass plug for zenith carbs

Guess this is not available.
Anyone know where I can purchase these?
Renners had one.
Shaped like a welsh plug.

Sacramento vintage describes the part as: throttle shaft end plug.
I saw it listed in a United Kingdom supplier online catalog.

I seal that by putting some oil on the end of the shaft and some epoxy putty over it. The oil prevents the epoxy sticking to the shaft. It is on the hidden side of the carby and my car is a driver so that's fine by me.

By chance does A&L have them? I bought some a couple of years ago. I just don't remember who I got them from.

Now there is a bit of genius! I never would have thought of that.

1. I use a sheet of flat plastic ... the kind that those plastic "blister" packages that are almost indestructible are made of.

2. Punch a hole with one of those hand paper punches that punches one hole and save the "hole".

3. Put the "hole" inside throttle shaft bushing area.("Hole" keeps shaft from getting stuck to JB Weld)

4. Then as mentioned above use J B Weld to fill hole even with the casting.

5. Powder coating or painting does not affect J B Weld.

I have used a brass shell casing, file the rim,and insert with small amount jb weld. I think it was a 22 or 17mm casing? not sure on size, looked nice and authentic. Have to look in my files as to the exact size of shell.

That crossed my mind. A rim fire cartridge?
Thanks for the idea.

or get some of the brass tubing that is sold in the hobby display at most hardware/crafts stores cut a piece off and solder on a disk. If it fits a little lose, use some JB Weld.

I cut a piece of oversized brass rod and used my lathe to make it fit.

No lathe here, but I like the shell casing idea, or the tubing.

I contacted Bratton's about the brass plugs. They said the individual who was making them passed away and the punch/dies used to make them were lost. Not enough demand to make anymore tools needed to create the plugs.
