Pulled my '49 F-47 out of the shop first time this year
I am getting ready for winter and wanted to clean the shop so pulled out the '49 F-47 and started her up, ran like a top. As I now have a complete drive line I filled the AOD with another 5 litres of ATF to bring it up to full, I now have engagement of the trans in all gears, cool, just need to install a throttle pedal and cable, and find an AOD TV cable and mounts, and it's ready to drive around for the first time in who knows how many years...
More later.. Cheers https://share.icloud.com/photos/0ZeG...V_K8zct9QHpJSQ

Re: Pulled my '49 F-47 out of the shop first time this year
Well, I need to get the AOD TV cable thing figured out so I don't destroy the trans...still wanting to build the GM TBI system, it's pretty much ready to bolt on, just need to figure out the manifold and mechanical aspect of the TB...make up the wiring harness this winter and fit it.....that should take me to February... There is still SO MUCH to do...I am just whittling away at the basics for now so I can drive it in and out of the shop so I don't need to tow it.
Cheers

Love that it moves under its own power. Always encouraging. Please be safe! That battery next to the gas can makes my sphincter tighten. Keep us updated.

I won't be offroading, just enough to get the tranny to shift and move it around the yard. Cheers

Good for you! Since it's late and I'm lazy sleepy where is Vernon BC? West, East or in the middle?

I'm about 60 miles south of Seattle. Look like you're in range. I'd pay you a visit sometime after all this crap is over. Went skiing at Whistler once. You can't be too far from there.

Yes Whistler/Blackcomb is a nice ski area, I've been there lots when I lived in Vancouver. Vancouver is about 350km from Vernon, multiple routes are possible. Hopefully everything will be back to normal next year.
Cheers
