Default Trying to stay authentic............

I finally remembered to acquire a good auto fire extinguisher. I look around for a place to have it easily accessible in case of emergency. The question was asked not so long ago, where do you have your extinguisher? For a coupe, not many locations to have the FS at arms length. Some modern things, turn signals, seatbelts is the owner's choice but a fire extinguisher is a required item for many occasions, let alone for everyday safety.
So, I mounted mine here, it's at arms length and away from foot traffic.

Bracket secured to the package tray.

But like a big red pluke on the tip of your nose during your plukey youth that needed popped, it stood out where today's requirement met yesterday authenticity.

What I did was this with a false bottom:

For a change out, I made another false bottom box to be wrapped in vintage 30s Christmas paper.

Unfortunately no, everything came off a net photo and printed out and glued in place.

Oh yeah
that would last about 5 minutes parked at some mini mart or shopping mall
they would break the window to steal that, especially the stamp

Great look! I'm assume you just pull off the box (no bottom) to get to the fire extinguisher fast...

The box was part of a bigger box that fit perfect in height and width. Fits over the FE and between the seat and the body perfect. No problem grabbing the box and lifting it up, flip it and grab the FE.

WAY TO GO! KEEP IT ORIGINAL (looking, at least...)

I've done some midifications to Bonnie, like Flathead Ted brake floaters, cast iron drums, and added (removable) turn signals... for pete's sake... there are dumb asses on the road who think a hand signal is a flip-off. All I'm saying is, thanks for the "original" mindset. I'm there with you. Just don't throw any original stuff out. The next buyer might insist on it. (And don't drill holes if you don't have to.)

That is just genius. I wish I had thought of that. Also, great job with the repro period labels and stamps.

Thanks for all the positive comments and I do keep all my original parts whether worn out, inoperable or damaged that I have replaced.

Cheers.............
