I do not chime on this type of posting, but the rule I try to follow is:

Much agreed. I missed the whole thing as today was a real busy day. Some of what was posted has been deleted so I do not know exactly what was said. Seems about once or twice a week someone sticks their foot in their mouth or someone with knowledge that is worth sharing decides to leave or is forced to leave. If the trend continues there won't be many posts that are worth reading so little reason to stop by Fordbarn while on the internet. Just an obsevation and opinion, but the nitpicking and arguing and rude comments have to end sometime or the conversations here will be the same as the ones at the coffee shop. Rod

Just an observation on my part for what it may be worth. There are different degrees of restorations, and commitment to the hobby as well. A 100% PERFECT Model A is nice to look at, but there are less than 25 finished every year, the rest are finished to different levels. It takes a while to figure out were Ford Barn members stand on fit and finish, as well as how to word a question and answer. Having fun with your Model A may not be the same as the next guy. Bob

Gee thanks Bill...I have patiently read this forum for many months hoping that Marco would return and share his vast knowledge. I can't believe I missed his opening post...now it's deleted and we have to endure how many more months of your doggy drama instead?

This site is firstly for the restoration and preservation of Model A's.
Yes we get along with and learn stuff from the perfectionists, the good-enoughs, the drivers, the ratrodders....heck we even lend a tired ear to your constant drama about dogs and ghosts of people past...a few people have even indicated they find you entertaining...fair enough.

Personally I was looking forward to a break from the silliness and wishing we could get back to the good old days of learning a thing or two....like the days when many of us actually printed off Marco's valuable, hardcore, documented findings and info for fear of losing it forever...such was the case with nearly everything that Marco shared.
His research and especially upholstery skills are admirable and from what I remember (when he used to share his knowledge with us) the man does not carelessly post without thinking first.
I guess I'll never learn the exact statement Marco made (sumpin bout an idiot?) not the context meant, nor the context taken
...all I can say is he's been correct on everything I ever heard.

Bill please stop apologizing and let it go. If Marco has found the time to begin posting here once again, see if you can quietly listen without comment...or not at all...your choice. Thank you.

I always read Marco's post as he showed and explained the right way to restore items on our A's. Do i have a pristine, restored car? NO. But i am working on an average driver which is the way i like it. But when i saw the picture of his roadster on Tinys picture thread, then that was it. Great looking car. What more can be said. Here is hoping Marco will stick around. And Bill, i don't have a problem with most of your post, or Buster's, but maybe just have a little talk with the fingers before you type.

A year or so ago, I had a conflict with another FordBarn member through private messaging. My error for waking up with a bad attitude and not considering the outcome of a rude post. Since then, I made myself a new rule. After I have typed in a message or post, I read what I have written, twice again, and then ask myself the question: "Will this post help the Model A hobby?" If I can not answer a firm "YES", then I don't post it.

We all make errors. None of us are perfect. If we are wise, we learn from our mistakes and try to live better.

I'm glad I am not the only one that has to reread posts afew times. I have typed a reply and then never posted it more than once. FB has had to many casualties of bad blood, outright fudes and arrogant posters in the last few years. Some that have left I greatly miss their posts and afew others I have been glad to see go. I have considered leaving several times myself, but the knowlegde and experiences I can share seem to balance out with the help I can recieve, so it seems like an even trade for now. Rod
