'30 Roadster w/s frame snaps
Our '30Dlx. Roadster has an old looking windshield frame (good condition surely a '60's aftermarket) but the snaps were never installed for the top to fasten onto it. Kinda breezy running around with that top not snapped down.
Winter project,,,, now, how tough is it to drill and tap for the snaps?? I would assume align them with the top fasteners already on the car. Take the w/s off? Do this on the car? Take it to a reputable shop and let them mess it up?? Do the job with the glass out of the frame? Any hints appreciated! Does A&L make a good quality snap I really haven't looked into this much yet. Hesitant to do it myself don't want to break the glass------------ |

If A&L sells it, it's the best available.

Re: '30 Roadster w/s frame snaps
I used the #10-32 studs available from Model A vendors on my 30 roadster, just mark locations , drill and tap and make sure you don't drill into the top of the glass. I left the windshield in place.

In the long run, you don't need them. You will never use the snaps. Too much trouble.

Guess I don't drive the car in foul or real cold weather anyway. Barry, IF I get bored this winter and feel froggy I MIGHT drill them but at this point I'll probably look for something else to work on. Thanks guys. |
