Turn signals flash at hyper speed
A recent thread on this problem with LED turn signals suggested using 50w 6 Ohm load resistors. I purchased these, but the instructions say they may not work on anything other than 12 v systems. My car is 6 v. Anybody know about this?
Here's a link to the load resistors: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/r...UaAtszEALw_wcB Thanks!! |

Re: Turn signals flash at hyper speed
Wire them to ground in parallel with the bulbs and see if they work. Can't hurt to try.

I used those on 6v, they worked with LED's

Re: Turn signals flash at hyper speed
May well depend on how they are wired.
Adding extra load in the circuit will help, like higher CP front bulbs. I'll assume you're using a 535 thermal flasher. [ There are no electronic units that I'm aware of for 6v, or, that actually work on 6v ]. I had the problem and just used brighter front incandescent bulbs. |

Re: Turn signals flash at hyper speed
The flashing rate is dependent on the amount of current passing through the flasher unit. The higher the current, the faster the rate, given the same flasher for each current level. If you want to slow down the rate of flash, either get a heavy duty flasher that can take the higher current or put a resistor in series to drop the current.

Re: Turn signals flash at hyper speed
Again guy's, ... Voltage can easily be reduced even to just one single component. Your car can be 12v and one item can be 6v and with a couple of resistors, ... you now have 6v anywhere you need it.
https://sciencing.com/reduce-12-volt...t-5972145.html https://electronics.stackexchange.co...with-resistors http://www.instructables.com/topics/...ply-to-6v-DIY/ OR You can buy something like these. https://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&ke...l_8a89por8bj_b Regards Bill |

Re: Turn signals flash at hyper speed
I have a 6 volt with rear led's and 32/50 headlights. My directional started to flash very fast after a few months. I changed the flasher and it is now ok.
