Default Your favorite addition (To your car)

A few people have asked about my radio in my 46 Ford so here it is. (next winter I will redo the console)
I have seen a few consoles in cars that look great and a few hidden goodies under the hoods that make you go wow.
Lets see some pictures of what you think is the one thing you added to your car that make it unique.

Neat idea and very unique. Haven't seen that done before. Also like the shoulder belts. Lot of guys won't run them because of looks. Cheap safety upgrade in my book.

Thanks.
Inside of belt is attached to the seat and outside blends into the B pillar when the car is parked. I welded in backer plates for strength in the pillar when I was welding it back together and repairing the rocker.

Looks good.
The only thing that I've added to my car to improve its looks/uniqueness is ME

Never added anything new, but there's been stuff falling off here and there the past few years, so I guess that counts for CUSTOM, right ???

BTW, looks like you need to add at least one more thing there......a drivers seat!

I like the theme of circles on the dash that lead down to the radio. Was it converted to 12 volts and modern guts? In my 55, when belted in, I couldnt reach the radio anyway. I made a wood bracket that held a small radio under the floor shift.
The single thing that improved the car most? A new five speed gearbox. At another time, power steering.

Since this thread does not appear to be year specific, I would have to say that my favorite addition/modification to my '36 was the elimination of a floor shift and parking brake in favor of and under dash mounted '37 parking brake, and a '40 column shift, which was altered so it would be on the left side of the column..

That seems like it would take some getting used to, to drive I mean.
Or are you from England or down under?

No I am not from England and/or AUS..
If you take a good look at the interior pix of my '36, you should note that the steering wheel is on the left side of the car.
Flipping the gear shift over to the left side of the column was a very common "trick" during the early '50's on the '40-48 Ford/Merc's.. It only required the removal of two 1/4" cap screws that retained the lower cap on the column shift assembly, the 1/4" pin was then removed from the shift rod, the rod/handle rotated a half turn counter-clock wise to the left, reinsert the pin and install the cap.. Very simple.. The only problem was that the shift pattern is upside down.. Low gear is up, 2nd down, as is reverse.. Great for speed shifting while street and/or strip racing.. Great for one handed driving with the girlfriend snuggled up real close to you..
Lots of great memories, still owning a car that I drove during the last two years of high school, plus the ensuing 60 plus years..
