Trim mostly, two tail lights, nicer interior, badging, trying to do this from memory. See if you can get a copy of the Early Ford V8 book on 35/36 Fords, lots of good info.

Re: 1936, Std vs Deluxe
They weren't a lot different like they were later in 1938. One tail light. One windshield wiper. A little difference in interior color & furnishing. The three window coupe was a Deluxe only body and maybe the convertibles too. The book isn't too expensive. I'd like to get a full set of the books some day. You can never have too much information.

Re: 1936, Std vs Deluxe
Deluxe had chromed windshield frame, Standard was painted. Same for the grill.
Lots of small differences, if you're building a 'show car', insignifigant if you have a 'driver'. |

Re: 1936, Std vs Deluxe
If your trying to do a quick ID remember it was very simple to change parts between a deluxe and a standard over the years and often done. So don't depend on just a few items, it's the whole package.

Re: 1936, Std vs Deluxe
Standard had a cigar lighter but no ash-tray. Also I think the round louvers in front of the horns were chrome on the deluxe, painted on the standard. Standard had one horn.

Re: 1936, Std vs Deluxe
For sure true for '35, not sure for '36.
Edit to add: My '36 Phaeton is the only '36 I've known and all of 'em were Deluxe, so, two horns.

Re: 1936, Std vs Deluxe
Thanks,, Looking at a survivor .. Most of what has been mentioned pretty sure it's a Standard, with possibly a couple upgrades

Re: 1936, Std vs Deluxe
I believe only the later 1937-40 V-8 60 HP cars had 3.5 inch wide rims. Late 36 deluxe had wood grained dashes. All 36 deluxes had water temp and oil pressure gages.

Re: 1936, Std vs Deluxe
With all due respect the 36 std had 3.5" wide rims.My 36 std coupe had all 4 on it + the spare.I believe it is noted in the 35-36 Ford V8 Club book.
