An original blueprint/scale line drawing of the then, brand new 1955 Thunderbird, dated 1954! This piece is from the estate of a recently passed, retired Ford engineer, who was on one of the original Thunderbird design teams. According to his family, it hung on the wall of his Ford office, and after retiring, it came home with him, got rolled up, and stuffed away into storage. It is in really good condition for being over 57 years old, and being the old, style, light brown Vellum paper, which is suseptible to damage if not stored properly. It does have a small hole in each corner, presumably where it was "thumb-tacked" to his office wall...I found a small, 1/8" tear on the bottom edge of the border...it does have small flecks of discoloration, and a couple minor, small diameter round stains...nothing serious, but worth mentioning. There is also some slight discoloration of the Vellum in certain area's, which I personally think, just adds to the character of the piece. It also has the impressions from being rolled up for numerous years, but, they are not "creased", and the whole piece should smooth out nicely if it were to be mounted on a nice, acid-free backing. I appologize for the pictures, it was very hard to get a good overall pic, as this is over 6' long, and, 3' tall. I took pics in sections, to try and give a better view of the overall composition. If you would like to see anything more specific, please PM, and I will try my best. There can't be too many of these around, especially ones that have survived in this condition. It would make a fantastic addition to your Ford/Thunderbird collection! $350 + insured shipping...US Postal Service money order...please PM any questions...thanks. |
