I guess you need the truck bell and starter plate. And the truck oil pan and pump. I'm just gathering the parts to do exactly this and haven't discovered potential obstacles.

My pickup came with no engine and has a 1950 style differential in it. I'm getting ready to set the block and my top shift 3 speed in there so I can look at details like clutch linkage and drive shaft, etc.

I'm not sure that a middle sump car oil pan won't work, but I rounded up a truck pan anyway. I also have a pair of 8BA truck exhaust manifolds in my growing pile. I wonder if the exhaust crossover connecting pipe on a car engine would be a problem?

Or, do exhaust manifolds from a 59 fit on an 8BA?

Yes on the exhaust manifolds. On the 8ba in my '39 p/u I ran duals so I can't help you on the cross over issue.
