I just put a 6 volt alternator on the roadster. All went well and Im getting good voltage out of it but my amp meter is reading the opposite side than it should. Is it just a matter of reversing the leads on the meter. It runs great.

Is it a positive ground alternator? How is the battery connected, negative or positive ground? DO NOT RUN UNTIL THIS IS VERIFIED. If you have it backwards it WILL destroy your new alternator.

Something isn't right.

If your ammeter was showing charging to the right with your old generator and now it is showing charge to the left, that means you have changed from positive to negative or the other way around.

When installing the new generator, did you change the battery connections?

Assuming all is positive ground, yes you can flip the ammeter leads and it will show charging to the right of center.
