Default 40 Panel Project & Tire ?

Here are some pictures of my panel project. Body work is done on tub but front fenders and hood need work. Note we used pickup rear fenders cut down to fit but we had to flare running boards to fit. My question is what size tires for the front? I have a Magnum 4" drop in front with 205 75 R 15. It is a tight fit with fenders when wheels are turned all the way. I am thinking 195 70 R 15 might work better. I would like to know what others have done. Thanks Pete

I usually put 195 65R X15 on the front of all 36-40 cars and trucks.
They work for me. Al

Thanks Al. I checked out your site and see you know what you are talking about. I am going to wait untill front fenders are painted and mounted in final position before I decide on tire size. I think the 195 65 R 15 would be a good look.

Love your panel, very unique ride. I agree with Al, although I have 185/65/15 on my coupe, but with MII, narrowed control arms with 5" wide Americans. On my old tudor i had 165R15 with a 4" dropped axle [Super Bell]. It was the narrower early style king pin distance, can't recall the difference but it allowed a somewhat narrower track it seems.

I like it. 205 15 on the front of my 38 panel. No rubbing yet,
