The metal piece is part of a brace that supports the roof rails coming into the header . All the 35-36 braces are painted .....from my recollection "winter leaf brown" , but I don't have Sorenson's bok in front of me ....on vacation . In your case , because the car is not an original color , I'd just paint it the same as the blue cowl to match . Mick
