Default Engine color

I am restoring a 55 F 100 with a 239 ohv. What color should the engine be? It looks like it was yellow, but I have never seen any Ford engine in yellow. Are the valve covers black?

Try here, and I've seen some other sites which similar, just don't have them on hand.
