Question Torque Tube or PVC Valve

I am building a 8ba and was wondering on going with a stock road draft tube or trying a PVC valve. The engine is bored .125 over and has a 4"merc crank with Ross Pistons and a L-100 cam. It will not be a daily driver and I plan on changing the oil often.
I know a lot of you experienced Flathead Expert have already gone down this road and have some Ideas. I am thinking on staying with the old draft tube until some one can convince me otherwise. Thanks in advance and every one have a Merry Christmas !!

I prefer the draft tube scenario. Just shorten the oil fill/breather tube.

Knowledge of what a pcv does (not pvc-that's pipe) and the advantages should be enough to "convince" you. They've been around since the '40s, mandated in the early '60s.

My 8RT has the draft tube removed and the oil fill tube shortened, no vapors so no smell. It does have a PCV valve

A PCV is far superior to a road draft tube at removing the blow-by that contaminates your oil. It also burns off those blow-by gases that would otherwise escape into the atmosphere through the road draft tube. For extending your engine's life the PCV valve is the best invention they ever came up with.

With that said I just think that old cars especially the restored cars should not be updated with modern technology. I like the look of the road draft tube anyway, especially chromed. I worked on modern emission systems for 30-years. Even helped write the test questions for California's certification tests for Smog Techs. You need to work on the new stuff to appreciate the simplicity of the old stuff. An engine without a single rubber vacuum hose is a beautiful thing!

Thanks, every one for the comments, if I was going with a PVC valve who makes the right one that would work for a flathead using 3 carbs.

PCV4953
1949-53 FORD & MERCURY FLATHEAD PCV VALVE KIT

$39.95

1949-53 Ford and Mercury flathead V-8 PCV valve kit replaces the original vent tube with a modern "PCV" valve. It will eliminate blow by smoke and keep condensation out of the crankcase.

When you use the PVC valve that uses the vacuum port for the windshield wiper it reduces the vacuum by a lot. The car runs better, at idle, with the road draft tube in place. That is my experience.
