AV8 finally on the road
I know this site is more for the stockers. I thought some guys might appreciate this car, as it's built with a lot of old Ford parts,in a 1940's fashion. I bought this car off of an 81 yr old man named Herman. He started hot rodding it in 49', it ran a banger motor with a Winfield head.

That is too cool! It looks like you have completed Herman's vision. I absolutey love the full top with the side curtains. Do you have any idea what your trunk handle (Zephyr?) came off of?

Re: AV8 finally on the road
Awesome A!! Herman ought to be proud of you! as for being worried about showing a traditional rod on this site,I think you will find that respectably modified old fords on this site far out number the purist. "just my observation"

Re: AV8 finally on the road
Av8's are a blast. They're a little rough riding but the rest of the car's personality makes up for that. Mine has a mercury 276 2x2, 4 speed, and a early bronco 9" with 3:70's. It's all about fun, Chuck.

Re: AV8 finally on the road
tuki ..................
That is one great looking AV8 ! I grew up in West Virginia, going to all car shows, for decades, but do not remember ever seeing that car. What part of West Virginia are it and you from ? You are really doing that car justice, by keeping it in it's intended construction. How about a little history ? Thanks for posting ! MIKE |

Thanks, I grew up around Charleston and moved to Spencer. That's almost a world apart from the Martinsburg area. That explains why I never saw it. I like it ! Thanks again, MIKE |
