Default new pics, a little history

I just installed my new water pumps and coil, got her out for a quick spin and a couple new pictures. A couple guys have asked me to post some history of the car.

I bought my 39 last October after seeing it on ebay about 2 hours before it expired. The auction failed, so I contacted the seller and bought the car and shipped it to Oregon. The car was in southern CA, owned by an older gentleman who had purchased it in 2009. The owner just prior to him had a lot of documentation and receipts. He bought it in March 1978 with 47,710 miles on it, paying $3,200. Apparently it wasn't running, he had the flathead rebuilt ($180.00!), new exhaust, etc, and it was running in June 1979. I'm not sure when it was painted, but I'm guessing at least 30 years ago. It was clearly a good quality paint job, but is showing its age here and there.

The reason I even looked is that I have a 39 standard project car that I decided I don't have the time, and won't for a while, to do another complete build. So, finding this car was a real treat. My wife gave me one of those looks, but said go ahead! Another huge treat!

My 39 is as good as it looks in the pictures. I can't believe the floors even, no rust, no pits, appear to have original paint on them. The (what I think is the original) flathead runs like a top. So, for a long time hotrodder, I am excited to have my first stock flat motor car.

I have a couple pictures here, and check out my new album. Thanks FordBarn! Roger

I believe I saw that nice looking '39 coupe when it was on eBay. I hope you decide to keep it as original as possible. Very nice looking early Ford V8!

Are you a member of the Early Ford V8 Club? I think there is a regional group or two in the Oregon area. Fun people to do flathead stuff with.
