What do you mean? "with an engine replacement" ?
I'm installing a "new" rebuilt flatty out of a 50 Ford. I think it's out of a truck.

I'd do some research on putting a 8ba motor in a 36. It'll fit but I believe there are some clearance issues that you will have to over come. I believe most have to do with fan / radiator clearances. But I could be wrong...

Not trying to discourage you, just an FYI to get the correct pieces/parts upfront.

here's a thread from the hamb on dropping a 8ba in a 36 you might find helpful. I'm sure there is a Fordbarn equivalent, but this is the first one that came up.

LOL, I forgot you were going with the flathead! I would recommend the BrassWorks!

Thank you for the info. I'm really hoping the 8ba will slide in without issue. I'm really trying to make this motor install as painless as possible. It's good to know this upfront for sure.

I want to be able to drive this thing at high hwy speeds for long distances... you know. 65-100 mph! At least I'm keeping it all ford and not dropping in 350 as so many people say I should do. I thought the drop axle & discs up front was the way to go keeping it more traditional than a mustang 2. Split the wishbones. I left the drums on my my 50' and it kinda sucks. At this stage, i'm just seeing what's out there for what I want to use the car for. The outside and inside I'm trying to keep original, just want to really make it a driver. I'm just learning about the 36 and do plan try and not hack on it as much as possible.

thanks and i look fwd to your input and advice.
You can run a flathead 70+ mph with a Mitchell overdrive. It is like a 4th gear and rpm drops to 2,200 or so at 70mph(guessing). I have two Mitchells. It is very easy to put disc brakes on a stock front. I've done that twice as well.
