Default 1956 Mercury Shift Indicator

City: Chadron
State: Ne

Item wanted is the shift position indicator for a 1956 Mercury with a Merc-A-Matic transmission. This indicator fits on the steering column and is made of plastic. The small missing part of the indicator holds a slide switch for the horn. Apparently pressing too hard on the horn ring breaks the old brittle plastic.Have attached a photo of the damaged inticator

Carl:
You're right the indicator for a 55 is different than a 56. Don't know about the Fords, maybe someone that has a Ford will let us know. The Ford-A-Matic and the Merc are basically the same Trans so maybe the Ford indicator is the same. Again Carl thanks for looking, I really appreciate it.

Still looking for the Shift Indicator at a reasonable price. Received one reply but way more than this old man can afford, so if someone has one at a reasonable price let me know.
