1934 mirrors

Mac's sells a set of swan neck, round mirrors that mount on the cowl. Part number is HR-18402-RPR.
I have a '34 coupe. Could someone post a photo of what these babies look like when mounted on your '34?

Jim,

Another alternative to the swan neck mirror is the following '33-'34 Ford mirror made by Vintique. It goes between the rubber pad and the cowl lamp arm. No holes to drill and no scratches on the cowl. The mirror has surprisingly little vibration at highway speed and offers good visibility. I've had it on my '34 5-window coupe for several thousand miles with no problems.

Check out my 34 5w in my album. I have a set of those but mounted them to the doors and not the cowl.

Thanks much G.H. yes, they are supposed to bolt to door which requires panel removal of course. Those mirrors really do look sweet.
Fordcp, the mirrors are in the Macs catalog, #HR-18402-RPR.

some pixs here you go...the mirrors are where the cowl light usually are and the cowl lights are where the horns usually are....

I am looking at these swan neck, round mirrors for use on another vehicle. Part number is HR-18402-RPR. Can someone who has these please provide the length of the base that mounts to the car? I need to determine if they will fit over the existing holes before I order. Many thanks.

34 roadster that work very well. Only problem is sometimes
The windwings blow back little and I chipped them when closing
the door.

Jay Leno has a car that he mounted stick on mirrors to the wind wing of a car. He claims that he gets satisfactory results from that and there are no holes to drill or paint to scratch. To remove take a razor blade to the sticky side. Of course 1934 Fords did not have wind wings as standard accessories.

Would someone please provide the part numbers and a supplier for the '33-'34 Ford Vintique mirrors that mount under the cowl lights. Thank You.

I contacted Vintique a while back. They are no longer producing the mirrors and said they have no plans to produce them in the future. Apparently they don't have the molds anymore.I can use a couple of sets myself.

Hi there, VINTIQUE part number for cowl mirror that's mounts under the cowl light on left hand side of car (drivers side on USA cars) is 40-17741. There was a left and right side available. But I believe they have not been made for at least six years or more. I bought mine in 2009 and that was old stock and hard to find even then. See post #10 and make your own. Macs used to have them and most other suppliers at that time. Regards, Kevin.

I have a neat mirror on my 33,it clamps on the front edge of the door,BUT unlike any others I have seen, the screws that clamp it DO not screw in from the inside,but are screwed in from the out side and pull the clamp part up,
NO marks on the paint.
I have been meaning to make some of these ,maybe I should get my A int G and make some.

I do like your mirrors. Are you interested in making another set?

If not, could you send to me or post some detailed photographs so I wouldn't have to reinvent the wheel? Our business is manufacturing parts for antique autos and I'm confident we could make them. That said, we do not make parts that others are making.
