Default 46-48 window garnish

I have three out of four of the interior window garnish for my 47 coupe, and they're all chrome. Looking on line, and at carshows I don't know if I've seen any of these cars with chrome garnish like mine. Was this a factory option, or was it because my car was kustom at one time.

Someone has chromed them . If the chrome is in good condition you will have no trouble selling them or trading for stock painted ones.

Not factory. That was a common practice back in the day to chrome the garnish moldings. My '39 CS has chrome windshield & door moldings.

they're a little rough, pretty rusty, i'm thinking about stripping the rust and maybe go with a brushed steel look.

If you prefer un-chromed ones and the chrome is in rough condition, a chrome shop can strip them for you.

They will just rust again quickly if left bare. You'll have to clear them or paint them.

Strip them and paint them the stock color.
