Default Update on fuel Problem and questions

This morning I posted a comment and pictures about a black substance on the carb. I am pleased to repor that after multiple flushing of the tank and the installation of a Tilly which I cleaned and reuilt this morning it cranks right up and runs just as it use to do. Still need a test drive.

Apparently the back goo is a result of the application of Permax High Tack Gasket sealer (98H, 80062) which was applied to the fuel line threads by the prior owner. BTW it is sold by Mac's and others for this purpose. I beleive it was just on the outsid eof the carb and not associated withthe problem. Though the gand might desire this information. Attached is a picture of the car as well as one of the Black Tudor which had similiar problems

That is the effect of unleaded fuel. I parked a 31 for 1 year and all the fuel areas had black gooey substance . I drained all the fuel out , put new fuel filter on and ran 5 gallons of gas 3 time thru everything. I got lucky all my system came out ok.
