Put them best where you foot lands getting in and out. I have them centered between the apron and edge of running board on my 31 Pickup.

Look for the wear spot on your running board, that's where they go

No harm meant for anyone that likes step plates . I would rather have the worn spot .

They are not only a step plate, but a scuff guard to keep you from kicking the splash apron and scratching the paint.

My 30 Tudor came with step plates. They are located 10 1/4 inch back from front edge of rubber trim and the bottom of the plate is 3/4 of an inch from the outside edge of the running board. Chap

You could mount them to a steel plate or wood board, and use them as mud scrapers before entering your house.
