Bubba, I enjoyed your story immensely! Entertaining and educating. I don't mean to patronize you but once again you have done a great job educating us on the topic. Thank you.

Seth,

Thanks for the comments!

Another one:
I started teaching for Lincoln Tech and was assigned to electrical E1 driveability class with a team instructor for training me as the new guy. He had me prepare my first class session on Spark plugs over the period of a week. I researched ( we had a huge auto libary) for a week and when the day came i talked for maybe 45 minutes and had used all my material! He just walked to the front and said "thats good Mr Linder but heres a couple things you missed" and proceeded to talk for the better part of four hours on spark plugs!!!
I got home that night and the wife asked hows the new job? I replied i dont think i can make it.
After eight years spark plugs took eight hours or two class sessions!!!

Some people do not like the newer H10s compared to the N.O.S. H10s -- but they are
VERY hard to find....
I do have some N.O.S. H11 s -- the designed plug to run a little hotter.....

Does the H-11 have a longer reach than an H-10? I've got a flathead that doesn't have a lot of room. It pounded the electrodes shut on some NGK's once. But I think it may need a hotter plug than the H-10's in there now. Guess I could go to the store and pull some out of the boxes....

If your lucky enough to have older H-10 plugs made in the USA you will not experiance the miss firing experianced by some with the newer produced made in mexaco champion plugs. Reading stories about way back in the day is great and the one thing the stories of old have in common the parts were made in the good old USA.

So true and that probably didn't begin to get into racing plugs.

I agree with waltm back in 1969 and so on I worked for the local Cadillac dealer and these high compression engines used a/c plugs ,but there were a few customers that took there cads, to independent shops for service, and @ 6000 miles or so they would start to misfire ,only to find they had champion plugs in them, they could not take the heat ,and the porcelain would crack, you could shake it like a rattle, I was always a firm believer to install what it came with from the factory

In my 37 with E77 heads, electronic ign. I went for NGK 6 . it is what is more readily available here. I had one of the Champions brake apart. I have has no problems whatsoever with the NGK's, runs like a clock..
