Default Looking for a reputable starter rebuilder in So Cal

Hi everyone,

I need to get my starter rebuilt for my '28 roadster. Does anyone know of reputable shop in the Southern California area that can rebuild Model A starters?

Any leads or recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Look in the Yellow Pages under Auto Electrical Service.

Starters are pretty straight forward to rebuild. I just finished a mid 28 type 3 starter. It is missing the service replacement spring and healess bolt and the switch I bought for it needs restored. The starter itself has a rewound armerature ($125), new brushes and bushings. I will have it for sale soon. Rod

Also if your armerature is shot I have one listed in the Swap Meet for the 28 starter. It must be a type 1 or 2 as it has a differnt dia in the bearing area. Rod

You didn't say where you are. Broadway Electric in Lemon Grove Calif does good work, and very honest.
