Default Hubcap Question

I recently bought this 1939 pickup on a whim and have really been enjoying the heck out of it.

It only has 3 hubcaps and I would would like to get a set of 5 that all match but I haven't had any luck finding ones that match. Can anyone help me out? I suspect these aren't actually original 1939 hubcaps. Is that correct?

Those caps are '38 Deluxe. I believe your pickup should have the '39 standard cap

1939 Standard and commercial are like the 1938 that you have only the V8 is a bit smaller. There out there on e bay from time to time.

On the '39 standard not only is the V-8 smaller, but the entire stainless cap is considerably smaller than the '38 deluxe. The '39 standard cap is all by itself. If you have the Early Ford V-8 Club 38-39 book you can see all the caps on page 5-3.

Love your truck just like it is .I restored mine mechanicly and am enjoying driving it , old paint and all . You do need to use 39 standard to be correct .but for a driver who cares. I have an extra set of caps which are not perfect but they are 38 std. So they would help you. Sunshine.

Here is a picture of the 1939 Ford Deluxe and 1939 Ford Standard Hubcaps. The Standard style were fitted to the Pickups.

In reality, you only need 4. The spare tire cab is a locking cap with a strap that goes over the top of the tire. It does not have a stainless cap, but a painted cap, which pulls down to reveal the locking mechanism. Not that hard to find -- they are called the 'frying pan' due to the fact that if you hold one by the handle, it looks like a frying pan.

Painted in 39' (black), chrome in 38.

Your current hubcaps look better then them headlight shields! Remember this is the internet and this is just an opinion. Nice truck!!!

Women seem to dig the headlight shields!

But that chrome assembly attached to the front bumper with the fog lamps is another story. I've been meaning to see how the truck looks without it. Just haven't got around to taking it off yet.
